About Me

Originally from Marshfield, Massachusetts, Noah D. Braunstein is a passionate actor, singer, arts manager, and theatre technician. A lifelong storyteller, Noah first discovered his affinity for the stage in third grade, when his teacher made him and his classmates stand alone in front of the whole school and recite poetry from memory. One stirring performance of Jeff Moss's "The Jellyfish and the Clam" later, and Noah's life was forever changed.

He began his formal acting training with his drama teachers at Marshfield High School and Break A Leg Theater Works before obtaining a BS in Theatre from Northeastern University. Upon graduating, he received the College of Arts, Media, and Design Undergraduate Creative/Research Award for his work as an actor with the Northeastern Department of Theatre. He also holds a Certificate in Shakespeare Performance from Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's Summer 2023 Apprentice Program.

Recently, Noah has been seen onstage in the Boston area at Apollinaire Theatre Company (The Suppliant Women), Boston Theater Company (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (A Midsummer Night's Dream), and at Northeastern (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling BeeTwelfth NightThe Moors, and Polaroid Stories.) â€‹He has also served in administrative positions at Boston Theater Company (Assistant to the Producing Artistic Director) and Central Square Theater (Assistant to the Director, Catalyst Collaborative@MIT); he played integral roles in organizing BTC's 2024 Road of Rainbows Pride 5K and Festival (which drew over 1,000 ticketed runners/walkers and over 9,000 more drop-in visitors, for a total of over 10,000 people on the Boston Common), creating dramaturgical materials for two productions in CST's 2023-2024 season (Machine Learning and Beyond Words) and more. Additionally, Noah has eight years of experience as a theatre electrician, and worked for Apollinaire Theatre Company in the summer of 2024 as Head Electrician for The Suppliant Women in addition to being in the cast–an experience which exposed him to the nuances and challenges of technical work in outdoor performance spaces.

He has a lifelong fascination with the sciences, and seeks to bridge the conceptual gap between them and the arts. His undergraduate thesis, "Acting Two-Directionally: An embodied neurocognitive analysis of character portrayal," examines the process of acting and character development in rehearsals through a lens rooted in cognitive neuroscience to call attention to the interplay between text-based ("inside-out") and body-based ("outside-in") acting methods in performance. The paper asserts that psychological realism and physical techniques like Viewpoints ought to be considered as two halves of the same unified whole, rather than as a standard Method and supplemental material.

Noah is dedicated to pursuing meaningful artistic work and leveraging storytelling as a tool for healing and inspiring curiosity, empathy, and necessary rage.

He'd like to thank his family, his many mentors, and his friends for their support over the years. He'd also like you to know that if you nerd out with him about books and video games, he will love you forever.
